She’s keen to get behind the wheel
Former Red cover star Ellie Goulding has thrown her name into the mix for hosting duties on the motor show following the departure of Chris Evans.
The singer took to Twitter to make her announcement.
Joking aside, her tweet was met by a huge wave of support and enthusiasm.
Ratings for Top Gear took a massive plunge after Jeremy Clarkson et al left. Chris Evans told said: “I gave it my best shot but sometimes that's not enough”
In February it was announced that Sabine Schmitz would become the show's first female co-presenter in 15 years. The last was Vicki Butler-Henderson in 2001.
BBC officials have yet to name a replacement for Evans, but LeBlanc is expected to return for a second season after earning praise for his presenting style as he took over the driving seat of Top Gear, hopefully alongside a female lead.
At this stage, anything could happen.
