Pinterest say hello to photo search

We’ve all been through the heartbreak of seeing something we want in a photo and not knowing how to find and buy it. Pinterest have set out to tackle this frustratingly annoying problem with a new photo search tool.

It might be that someone has uploaded a photo of their bedroom or living room, and you spy a lamp in their pic or you spot someone in your dream coat on the high street. As of now, you no longer have to scroll the internet for hours trying to find it, all you have to do is search the photo.

When you spot these must have items, you can click the search tool in the corner. You can then select the part of the pin that has the object of interest, and a whole stream of other pins will show up that have a similar, if not the same, object.

You can even filter your picture search results by topic to help you find exactly what you’re after.

This tool has been released across all devices. Meaning that if you’re scrolling on your laptop or phone (whether it’s an Android or an IOS) you will be able to make the most of the new time-saving tool.

However, this news has been met with mixed responses. One Facebook user has asked: “How can I disable this? I hate it. It ruins the pictures integrity.” While another user said: “Thank you Pinterest. Yer rockin it.”

Only time will tell whether Pinterest’s latest move will be welcome, but, for now, users are encouraged to give it a go and see what they think.
