Some of them have only been off the circuit for a few years, others are breaking almost a decade of silence. Here are the artists who have got a comeback album ready for 2017...

James Blunt
Right when the world was looking it's worse, Trump had just been elected, Brexit still felt like it might have been a dream, the internet was a rather depressing field of pessimistic rants. Until James Blunt broke the ice.

His Tweet both perfectly summarised the way we all felt about the mess of 2016 and announced he would be releasing new tunes for the first time in four years.
James' new album, The Afterlove, will be on sale March 24th.
The Gorillaz
The group have broken their six year silence. Most known for their tracks Feel Good Inc. and Clint Eastwood, they could be about to change everything we thought we knew about the virtual band.
The night before the inauguration of President Donald Trump, the band Gorillaz released their first song, Hallelujah Money, since their last album, Plastic Beach, dropped in late 2010.
The band has a long-held reputation for issuing opinions on pressing issues through their art. Their album "Demon Days" features tracks such as Kids With Guns and Dirty Harry that clearly reference cultural issues. Social and political commentary is nothing new to the virtual band. So it's only right that their forth studio album is taking on one of the most controversial elections in American history.
The Gorillaz are officially back and expected to release a full album sometime this year. Until then, you can check out their new song below.
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
The record, Flying Microtonal Banana, will be the first of five studio albums that the band will release in 2017, is also their ninth album over the past five years.
The record has largely been inspired by Stu’s specially made microtonal electric guitar that’s shaped like a flying V (hence Flying Microtonal Banana).
The group's fifth album will be available to buy or download from February 24th.
Ed Sheeran
Unless you've been living under a rock for the last month, you'll know that Ed Sheeran has been completely dominating the charts with his two new hits, The Shape of You and Castle on the Hill. But just today, on his 26th birthday, he decided to give us all the present of a third track off his upcoming album.
Ahead of ÷'s release on the 3rd of March, Ed dropped How Would You Feel (Paean) with a live video on YouTube.
Having spent six consecutive weeks at NO. 1 with The Shape of You, the singer's third studio album is likely to shoot straight to the top of the album charts next month.
Check out his new song right here.
Lorde
The New Zealand, curly haired songbird is set to release her second album in spring 2017. Back in 2013 she found global fame with her debut record, Pure Heroine.
Last November, Lorde teased her album, posting to Twitter a photo of a pair of standard issue Apple ear buds, explaining that she likes to “listen to the record on these every day”. She added: “wanna hear it exactly how you will”.

Not only did Twitter gift us with the knowledge of the new album, it may have just given us the release date. While nothing is official, it looks very much like Lorde's currently untitled album could be on sale March 3rd.

Haim
Much like Lorde, Haim are set to release their first music since their debut album 3-years-ago. In 2013, the band made up of three sisters and their drummer dropped, Days are Goneand have since joined Taylor Swift's infamous crew and been on tour with Florence and the Machine.
Now speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the sister trio have provided an update on the record’s sound, progress and revealed that it will eventually see the light of day in summer 2017 (despite originally being planned for autumn 2016).
Until we know more, here's one of their classics to hold you over.
